Video Distribution and Archiving Services Information

The works of students distributed by AT Lab are first submitted to various domestic and international film festivals, where they get the opportunity to be screened.
The submission period for film festivals varies, but it usually takes place over the course of one year following the start of distribution.
During this period, due to the premiere rules of film festivals, there are no screenings at events or online showings.

After the film festival submission period is over, general distribution begins. At this stage, the video works are made available in various local screenings, on public and cable television programs, and through various online streaming platforms, including OTT services. DVD and Blu-ray packaging contracts are also pursued.
For details on the distribution of general distribution revenue, please refer to the later section on revenue sharing.

The period for AT Lab to distribute your works is five years. After five years, the distribution rights for the work will revert back to you, the students.
The master copy of the submitted video will be archived in the Media Content Center, the School of Film, TV & Multimedia's Film & Multimedia Archive, and the Art Library's Archive Room.
Even years later, if you need the master copy of your work, you can contact our center (02-746-9548), the School of Film, TV & Multimedia's Film & Multimedia Archive (02-746-9544), or the Art Library's Archive Room (02-746-9137).

Distribution Eligibility Requirements

• 1. Works produced by each school or organization
• 2. Works completed as part of the Bachelor of Arts, Master of Fine Arts curriculum, or an equivalent program.

Distribution Application Period

• 1. Official Application Period
  • - First Half of the Year: January~March annually
  • - Second Half of the Year: August~September annually
• 2. Outside the official application periods, we accept distribution applications on a rolling basis. Please feel free to contact the AT Lab distribution manager at any time (02-746-9548).

• 3. Please come to our center or submit the screening master file via an online link
• 4. Sign the 'Copyright Management and Utilization Consent Form' and the 'Personal Information Collection and Utilization Consent Form' at the center and submit them

DI File

This is a document introducing the copyright holder's personal information and details about the genre and technical format of the work.
Please be sure to include the genre of the work, its viewing rating, and keywords.
You do not need to provide a separate preview link.

Press Kit (Kor/Eng)

This is a document for verifying information about the work, such as the synopsis and director's intentions.
Please be sure to include the director's intentions and the director's filmography.
An English version of the press kit should also be prepared to facilitate smooth submission to international film festivals.

Music Cue Sheet

This is a document to confirm the resolution of music copyright issues used in the video.
Music with unresolved copyrights may lead to future disputes, and this is a crucial point of verification for some film festivals, like the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival.

Dialog (Kor/Eng)

Please provide the dialogues used in the work.
In the case of English, it is necessary for international distribution, and in the case of Korean, it is required for barrier-free screenings, so it is important to provide both English and Korean.
Additionally, for screenings in non-English speaking countries, a dialogue file in the language of the screening country may be requested.

• ■ Screener file: mp4 file encoded with h264 or HEVC codec
• ■ Screening master file:
  • ◆ mov file encoded with Apple Prores 422 (HQ) or higher. For higher-quality DCP production, submission in 4444 is also possible
  • ◆ For films with 5.1 channel audio, also submit audio wav files
