PROJECTS

The Art and Technology Lab (AT Lab) at the Korea National University of Arts is a creation and production lab aimed at the convergence of science and technology, culture and art, industry and education, and has been collaborating with leading domestic and international companies, universities, and researchers to create and conduct research in the fields of realistic media, advanced medical and artificial intelligence content.

The multi-user experience <NINE VR: COME SEE ME> (Director Choi Minhyuk) is a consortium work of Korea National University of Arts and Content One Campus, developed in collaboration with CJ Future Management Institute. It is a two-player VR storytelling content that is a spin-off based on CJ ENM's tvN drama <Nine: Nine Time Travels (2013)> and was demonstrated as an outstanding work alongside Korea's first immersive VR theater work, <First Crisis> at the Content One Campus Construction and Operation Project Performance Presentation in February 2019.

<NINE VR: COME SEE ME> was selected as an outstanding work in the 2019 Content One Campus Construction and Operation Project, and was invited to the 2019 Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival, Asia New Wave (XR Program) of 2019 Kaohsiung Film Festival in Taiwan, 2019 SXSW Film Festival in Texas, USA.

The Content One Campus Construction and Operation, which was the mainstay of this work, is an ambitious project promoted by the Korea Creative Content Agency. School of Film, TV & Multimedia at the Korea National University

of Arts, which has been carrying out this project for two years, is leading advanced content research and education through the operation of the New Media AT Center, an R&D center for the creation of advanced media such as VR, and an integrated curriculum based on industry-academia collaboration, while the CJ Innovation Lab has been experimenting with various industrial applications of XR technology within CJ Group since its establishment in 2017.
