Audience Participatory Interactive Content [Scarecrow:Rickindle]

<Scarecrow: Rickindle> is a recreation of the VR immersive work <Scarecrow> produced by AT Lab in 2019 as part of the 'IP Advancement Project'.

Set in a village where the heart was taken away by evil firebirds, "The Scarecrow," which depicts the journey of unlocking the curse and reclaiming the hearts of the villagers with the scarecrow left alone in the village, has been invited to the world's leading film festivals starting with the invitation of the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and has been praised by major foreign media such as Forbes as "one of the most intense experiences of digital content ever."

<Scarecrow: Rickindle> expanded the world view and story of existing works and further emphasized cooperative interactions between audiences by using VRChat, which allows various users to access and enjoy content together at the same time. In the work, the audience breaks a rock together to set fire to the Scarecrow's heart again, bursts a blocked waterway, collects crystals and blooms on the dead ground.

This production contains the message, "You can comfort someone when you're together and talk about hope to the world again.

The audience-participating interactive content <SCARECROW: REKINDLE> reborn as an IP advancement business has achieved the feat of winning the 'Best Immersive Theatre' award at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival.

<Scarecrow: Rickindle> is an XR experience that deeply touches emotions, showing anew how vividly we can feel, choose ourselves, and immerse ourselves in the story," the festival said in its review. "It is a work that deeply resonates through simple but poetic expressions and shows how powerful and effective an immersive narrative rooted in human vulnerability and delicacy can be through a warm sense of solidarity contained in a clean design."

In the future, AT Lab at K-ARTS will not only improve the completeness of the work but also build a sustainable creative ecosystem for artists based on these projects through the IP Advancement Project, a project that supports reinterpretation and development of excellent existing works like <Scarecrow> in line with technology and changes in the times.
